User reviews on AMC Firewheel 18
The theater is clean and the people are nice, I have only gone to this theater 3 times and I have only been in the IMAX theater so I can only rate that one, but the sound is way too loud. Talked to the usher and he said they are required to keep it at that sound level. The first two movies we saw there were not too hard to watch because they did not have constant music in the background, but the last one we saw there never let up, thank goodness we had earbuds to help muffle the sound. We won't be going back, well we may try the regular screens but not the IMAX. We will drive further to the IMAX in Dallas as we have seen many movies there over the years and never had that problem, and we have been in IMAX's in other states without that problem either. And it's not just our age as other people including our children were complaining of the sound and having headaches.
I felt the need to write a review, considering the only one here is for Wall-E (which I happened to love!) and this is the theater, not the movie :)
All in all it's a pretty great theater, sometimes the staffing is a little low, but they allow you to bring in your own food and drink, which is great if you have little kids with you because, of course, they'll want candy and theater candy is always so expensive!
They have IMAX there, which is a huge bonus for me, considering the closest IMAX theater used to be waaaaay far away, like an hour drive. It's usually really clean and the people are nice, and being right in the mall is great if you're hungry afterwards or want to spend some time shopping with the girlfriends :D
The animation is great but the movie is very SLOW. There was no dialogue for the first 45 minutes. My 4 year old kept asking, when is he going to say Wallll - E... and that didn't happen until 45 minutes into the movie. Several other kids started getting restless in the theater too, if that gives you any indication. The plot was definitely different from any Pixar film I've ever seen, but it's one of the films that you should wait to come out on video or in my opinion, you're not missing much if you just skip it altogether.
