I did not really like this film but i bet some people will love it so I guess you have to see it for yourself to really decide but in this review I will state my opinion. I think this film tried really hard to be a film about girl’s coming of age but it could not stay focused and was a bit chaotic and ADD. I was also not sure about what message about religion this film was trying to convey and this movie had a lot of religion in it so I think it should have had an opinion about it as well. I know this is director’s first film so I am being kind of harsh and I am looking forward her next film so I can change my opinion about her work. -
I thought this film was interesting but not quite worth seeing in the theaters. The film is very naturalistic and I loved Vianello's beautiful performance, she definitely lifted this film up. This is a debut film for Alice Rohrwacher and I think it is not a bad one and I am excited to see her next film, I think she will learn from her mistakes. The film is quietly disarming and it explores interesting and intriguing themes that made me think and wonder and I enjoy when films do that. Overall, I think this film is definitely worth renting and enjoying it at the comfort of your house.
